Home sales stable in January on Oahu - Real estate statistics

The number of Hawaii real estate sales jump. The Hawaii Housing Statistics show that stable prices are continuing on Oahu in January 2017. The Oahu real estate statistics for the month of January 2017 are released today. According to the analysis by the Honolulu real estate board, using data collected from its computerized Multiple Listing Service (MLS) system, the Oahu Hawaii island housing supply and statistics are:

January 2017 Sales continue to be stable for Oahu

During January, the median price paid for single-family homes decreased by .5% year over year to $730,000. The median price for condominiums increased by 1.5% percent from last year to $380,000. Sales of single-family homes increased by 6.5 percent year over year, while condominium sales increased by 11.8 percent from January 2016. According to the Days on Market indicator, single-family homes were on the market for 21 days while condominiums were on the market for 26 days.

“January to February has historically been the seasonal low for Oahu housing sales, so these figures are typical to start the year,” said Sue Ann Lee, president of the Honolulu Board of Realtors. “However, days on market are still very low and new listings are up. The new inventory coming onto the market is helpful; however, more options at all price points are still needed to keep up with the demand for housing.”
