Number of Hawaii real estate sales jump – November 2016 Oahu statistics

The number of Hawaii real estate sales jump. The Hawaii Housing Statistics show the supply shortage is pushing Real Estate prices on Oahu higher in November 2016. The Oahu real estate statistics for the month of November 2016 are released today. According to the analysis by the Honolulu real estate board, using data collected from its computerized Multiple Listing Service (MLS) system, the Oahu Hawaii island housing supply and statistics are:

November 2016 Number of sales jump higher for Oahu

During November, the median price paid for single-family homes increased by 4.8% year over year to $750,000. The median price for condominiums increased by 13.7% percent from last year to  $395,000. Sales of single-family homes jumped 19.5 percentyear over year, while condominium sales increased by 13.7 percent from November 2015. According to the Days on Market indicator, single-family homes were on the market for 17 days while condominiums were on the market for 15 days.

“What’s perhaps most encouraging in this report is the increase in pending sales, with single-family homes up by more than 18 percent and condos more than 20 percent, which we anticipate will be reflected in closed sales in the next couple of months,” said 2016 Honolulu Board of Realtors President Kalama Kim. “Furthermore, during this time period the market experienced a jump in mortgage interest rates and uncertainty with the local and national elections. The closed home sales figures demonstrate that the market still accepts the price for homes here on Oahu even though they have been rising for some time now.”
