Koolani condo Tower in Kakaako, Honolulu, Hi

The Koolani condo is well known in the up and coming neighborhood of Kakaako in Honolulu on the island of Oahu.  Kaka’ako was once warehouse district is being redeveloped and revamped into lots of shopping, restaurants and new condominium towers. Off to one side close to Ala Moana Center is the Koolani. Completed in 2006. The location is fantastic. It is a half block to Ala Moana Center, a half block to the beginning of all of the new shops in Ward Village and about a block to Ala Moana Beach Park. It is also very close to Piikoi Avenue which is a direct access to the freeway.

It also has all of the amenities one would want and come to expect from a luxury condo. Along with the standard fair of pool, spa and bbq cabana there is also tennis courts, a little dog park, movie theaters, billiards room, business center recreation room and a game room. The other interesting addition is the Island Club and Spa. This is a full fledge fitness center with classes and state of the art fitness equipment. The locker rooms have sauna, steam and whirlpool facilities. This is all offered to residents of the Koolani for a deeply discounted rate. This is a fabulous Honolulu condominium building.

Koolani sales update

Although I have sold quite a few units in the building, a recent sale in which I represented a buyer may be one of the last 2 bedroom ocean view units for under $1 million. Prices have really started to rise in the building. No doubt it is as a result of the nice appointments inside the unit including the Viking Appliances and the toilets imported from Italy and the amenities. The quality of the interior has been enduring. There is a timeless modernism that seems to prevent the unit from looking dated.  The quality materials and well thought out floor plan that seem to make all of the difference.

The popularity of the building has also made it challenging for renters to find available units in the building. As a manager of several of these units, I am keenly aware of this, so rental rates continue to rise in the building. In light of the newer buildings popping up, it still represents a good value too which keeps most units occupied all of the time.
