Oahu home sales statistics February 2014

Oahu home sales statistics for the month of February 2014. According to the analysis by the Honolulu real estate board, using data collected from its computerized Multiple Listing Service (MLS) system, the Island  housing statistics are:

Oahu (Hawaii) home sales increased in February 2014

Sales of single-family homes on Oahu decreased by 5.5% percent from February 2013 and condominiums increased by 6.1%. The median price paid for the island of Oahu properties in February increased 13.2% to $679,000 for single-family homes, and increased by 5.7% to $359,450 for condominiums compared to the same month last year.  According to the Days on Market indicator single-family homes were on the market for and average of 24 days and condominiums for 34 days.

“These are very good numbers for what is historically our slowest month of the year,” said Julie Meier, president of the Honolulu Board of REALTORS®. “Sales of single-family homes were down mainly due to a lack of inventory in the mid and lower price bands. In fact, we saw a number of high-end homes close, including a $9 million residence in Lanikai. Additionally, we set a new record for the condo median sales price. The previous high of $350,000 was set in August 2013.”
